There is always a lot to do in Charleston but September and October are going to be jam packed with great events.
Here are a few of the ones I think are the can’t miss food events:

Saturday October 4th is going to be an epic day in Charleston. Die hard local foodies will be attending the following 2 events. Go to Hogs for a Cause at lunch. Try a few plates of BBQ then head home, put your white outfit on and go to the PopUp Dinner in white at 5PM.
Hogs for the Cause
Saturday, October 4th, 2014
Place: The Grove at Patriots Point
Admission: $35, $70, $200
I will be going here for lunch at around 11:30AM and buying the $35 ticket. This will get me in the event and then I plan on buying 3-4 plates of BBQ all $7 each. Then I’ll head home to prepare of the PopUp Dinner.
Highlights of the Hogs for a cause will be Rodney Scott of Scott’s BBQ in Hemingway, SC. He will lead the group of pit-masters plating up their BBQ for the crowds. Other pit-masters at the event will include Jimmy Hagood, Conyers Family BBQ, Jim ‘N Nick’s, Sweatman’s, Shulers, and Aaron Siegel of Fiery Ron’s Home Team BBQ. There will also be a list of bands performing while you eat featuring groups like the Dead 97s and Drive-By Truckers.
The PopUp Dinner
Saturday, October 4th, 2014
You won’t know the location of the event until October 4th. They will email you. Here are the other things you must know:
-All diners must wear all white….shirts, pants, dresses, hats…everything white
-You are bringing your own food and wine to share. Pack a picnic baskets of some bread, cheeses, and other temperature independent foods to eat and share.
-There will be dancing and surprises. The Brooklyn event featured a performance by Ben Folds!
Charleston Southern Ground Music and Food Festival
Saturday-Sunday, October 11th-12th, 2014
Place: Blackbaud Stadium on Daniel Island, SC
Admission: Currently only one day passes are left and are going for $97-$107
The musical highlights for this event (for me) will be the nightly performances by Zac Brown Band, as well as Blues Traveler, St Paul and the Broken Bones, Rodrigo y Gabriela, and Boy & Bear. There will also be tons of great food vendors including Zac Brown’s Executive Chef and food truck run by Chef Rusty Hamlin.
